Did you make someone laugh yesterday? Was it intentional?

You gotta laugh or you'll cry, right? We do lots of laughing around here. If you can't laugh at yourself (and your close family members) who can you laugh at? I don't recall anything specific I did to make someone laugh, but it probably happened. Usually it's my absent-mindedness that elicits laughter. I do some of the nuttiest things. (I was actually working on this on Tuesday so I couldn't think of an instance where I made someone laugh on Monday. But now I have something ... last night I surprised one of our softball coach moms with a birthday cupcake with candle in the dugout and had the girls sing 'Happy Birthday' to her. She was delighted and laughed the most beautiful laugh.)

What's a simple question with a complicated answer?

When is your daughter getting married? Well, she is having a family legal ceremony this Friday evening. Then we are going to Mexico for a destination wedding next Tuesday. Then we are having a reception in July.

Rhododendrons or azaleas ... you have to choose. Are either currently blooming in your yard?

Azaleas. No, I don't have any growing in my yard. I planted one bush when we moved in but it died.

May 21st is National Waitstaff Day. Have you ever worked as a waiter/waitress? How would you rate the experience? What was the best/worst part of the job?

When I was 16 I worked as a waitress in a hotel restaurant. I hated that job! The best part was the free food I got to eat (I can still remember the french dip sandwich and baked fish with buttery almonds on top), and the worst part was the after-church ladies that would come in, be super picky, and leave a few cents for a tip. It think it should be a law that every person has to work as a waiter or waitress once in their life so that they can appreciate how hard of a job it is. I am definitely a kind tipper, even if the service isn't so great. I've been there.

What fashion trend for women should be outlawed? How about one for men?

High-waisted jeans or shorts. Why make your butt look even bigger than it already is? For men, track shorts with piping. Yuck!
