Gotta kick it into high gear now ... school starts on Thursday. With Brynne's skating birthday party completed, I can concentrate on the final preparations.

In my life this week ... It's a bittersweet week as the summer comes to a close. Although I am so very ready to get back to our "normal" schedule, I am sad to see the kids' carefree days end. I would say that I am going to miss seeing Kyndal once she goes back to school, but in reality I will probably see her more. I will, though, miss having Eli at home every day. I am teary thinking about it.
In our homeschool this week… The binders are organized, the books are on the shelf, the supplies for the first week are gathered. We are ready to launch on Thursday.
Places we’re going and people we’re seeing… Kyndal will be soaking up every moment with her friends. Eli will get to meet his teacher this week. Brynne will start back to Co-op. And Dawson has his Xbox back, so he is "seeing" his comrades.
My favorite thing this week was… having my parents here for the weekend for Brynne's birthday party and celebrating with her at the skating rink. Seeing my dad skate was awesome!
What’s working/not working for us… Keeping a clean house. It seems these days that it's clean one minute and a disaster the next. Getting back on a schedule will certainly help that.
Questions/thoughts I have… I hope that all four of my kids have an amazing year of learning and growing.
Things I’m working on… three more U.S. History units! Won't you be glad when I am not saying that? I will possibly get one more planned before Thursday, but I am not stressed. I having everything planned through the end of March, so I certainly have plenty of time to get the last couple done before the end of the year.
Books I’m reading… Then Came You by Jennifer Weiner (I had to abandon Escape by Barbara Delinsky. I read 165 of the 300 pages and it just wasn't that good! I mean, it was okay and readable. But I learned in The Book Whisperer that it's okay to abandon a book if you are not enjoying it. There are just so many good books out there to read, and I want to be reading something that I can't hardly stand being away from.), More Faith in My Day by Emilie Barnes (my daily devotional).

I am totally with you on the clean house thing! I am fighting that battle too. I like you hope that a good schedule will fix that problem :)
