Our first grandchild is due in four weeks.


To say we are excited is an understatement. We cannot wait to meet our grandson!!


On Monday I took Kyndal out to our new property to take some maternity photos of her. We took photos on the side of the property where her and Collin will build their house in a few years. We got some great shots. She is beautiful!

    I am a mom of 7 and I've been homeschooling for 9 years. Looking through your blog and seeing how you have your days planned, I have always done things similarly. For history I have always done History of the World, but this year I am going do a year long study of American History. I need some help with resources and that's how came to find your blog. My Google search took me to your 2011 post of an extensive overview of your whole plans and such. The only link that is still current is the "History of Us," DVD series. Is there any way you would be able to help me with current links to what you had on that post? I'm very interested in the student notebooking and the print outs that you actually show in picture below your text for that particular 2011 blog post.

Eli's reading resource teacher shared a website with me yesterday that I would like to pass along. It's called ABCya . There are separate educational sections with fantastic games for ages kindergarten through 5th grade. I browsed the 2nd grade level, and it includes age-appropriate games about Letters, Numbers, Shapes, Geometry, Patterns, Mouse Manipulation, Art and Holiday games. There are lots and lots of fun and creative games for children to play. They are fun, but oh, so educational. Eli's favorite, in his short time playing it, was Create a Car . A lot of the games also have Apps available for purchase (99 cents for most of them) for the iPad and iPhone. I have been looking for another free website for games similar to Starfall , for some time. I think I have found it. I can feel confident having Eli and Brynne play these games.

Cells ~ It's What's for Dinner

Dawson made edible cells on Friday. He made an animal cell pizza ... and a plant cell chocolate chip cookie ... He reviewed what he's learned about cells the past two weeks, and I had dinner made by someone else. Win, win!! I am linking up at Science Sunday at Adventures in Mommydom.
