There is no Wednesday Hodgepodge today as the host is moving this week. As my older kids will start texting me "Where's your Hodgepodge?", I'll do a Daybook entry instead. Gotta keep my viewers happy!

Outside my window ... it is SUNNY! The 10-day straight rain forecast has been pushed back a few days. Right now I am enjoying the sun and slight breeze coming in through the sheer curtains in my bedroom.
I am thinking ... about how nice it is to have Dawson's best friend, Antonio, here from Oklahoma. The whole house gets excited when he comes to town.
I am thankful ... for my awesome little home.
I am wearing ... my Girls on the Run 5k t-shirt and striped pj shorts.
I am creating ... my gardening spaces, finally! We have been so busy and it has been so rainy and nasty that I have just now had a chance to do it. Things are looking nice!
I am going ... to a doctor appointment for myself in one town 30 minutes away at 2:00 p.m. and then racing to another town for Eli's speech therapy appointment at 3:30 p.m. Hope we make it in time!
I am wondering ... who is sleeping upstairs. When you have an 18 year old son and a major XboxOne game that just came out yesterday and the house where everybody hangs out then you probably have anywhere from 4-6 large boy men sleeping on every available space in your son's upstairs bedroom. I doubt I'll know the answer to this question for several more hours since they were up all night playing said game.
I am reading ... Farmer Boy by Laura Ingalls Wilder (kids read aloud), Escape from Mr. Limoncello's Library by Chris Grabenstein (kids read aloud for Book Club), and In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner.
I am hoping ... that I regain the motivation to get out and run again. It's hot and I haven't run in a few weeks and I know I am going to struggle. Just gotta get that motivation to do it!!
I am learning ... to budget in my life. That was my word of the year for 2015 and I am still working on it. This is not just in terms of money, although that is important, but also in time, relationships, etc. I still have work to do but feel like I am making some strides.
In my garden ... are tomatoes, oregano, jalapeños, garlic chives, sweet potatoes, raspberries, strawberries, and a newly discovered wild blackberry vine!
In my kitchen ... is my brewed pot of coffee just waiting to be sipped and enjoyed.
In the homeschool room ... ahhh, we are back at it! Each day we do a math page, grammar page, and lots of reading! It takes us from 2 - 3 hours to get everything done. The kids are also in a book club at the library and will be attending gardening class.

A peek into one of my days ... Let's see what photos have transferred to my computer lately from my phone (love how the iPhone and my Mac do that automatically when they are close to each other).
It's softball season! On Monday Brynne's team had a softball game. They were all ready to play, and then the other team didn't show up. So the adults scrimmaged them instead. It was a lot of fun!! Let's just say I still got it.
One of my favorite things ... My morning routine. I set my alarm to get up at 7:45 a.m. because my morning time before the kids get up is very important to me. The dogs actually wake me up at 6:30 a.m., but I am able to shush them for another hour. I grab my coffee and my computer and climb back in bed and have some "me" time. Then I get back up at 9:00 a.m. to get ready for the day and to work out at 9:30 a.m. That's when I get the kids up so that they are ready to start school by 10:30 a.m. That couple of hours is essential to my day.
From the board room ... It's time to get serious about next year's schooling. So I started a new board on World War II and some of our upcoming science topics.
